Dr Mahdi Aiash is an Associate Professor of Computer Science and Cybersecurity at Middlesex University London, where he leads the Cybersecurity Research Group. He also serves as Director of the Centre for Abuse, Trauma and Suicide Studies (CATS), contributing to its work on technology-facilitated harms and digital safety. His expertise spans AI-driven cybersecurity, exploitation research, and emerging threat landscapes. He has secured multiple funded projects in cybersecurity and AI, and his publications in leading venues place him among the top cybersecurity researchers globally. With over a decade of industry experience across offensive and defensive security, Dr Aiash works closely with businesses to translate research into practical capabilities that address real-world cyber challenges. He contributes to advisory panels shaping cybersecurity policy and best practice, and his work has been featured in national media.
